Seasonal Flower Availability Guide

A month-by-month look at which flowers are in season in the UK, drawn from what we actually cut, forage and source for our bouquets and weddings each year.

At Berengaria Flowers, everything starts with the season. Working with British growers and our own cutting patch means the flowers in your bouquet reflect the exact moment of year — softer palettes and shorter stems in spring, blousy roses and dahlias at the height of summer, and structural, evergreen arrangements through winter.

This guide is here to help you picture what your flowers might look like, and to answer one of the questions we're asked most: what flowers are in season now?

Spring

March – May

The garden wakes. Bulbs give way to the first blousy blooms of the year — a season of soft light, fresh green and gentle scent.

March
Narcissi, tulips, anemones, hellebores, muscari, early ranunculus
April
Tulips, ranunculus, blossom, fritillaria, bluebells, hyacinth
May
Peonies (late May), lily of the valley, lilac, sweet peas, alliums, cow parsley

Summer

June – August

The most generous months. English gardens are at their fullest — roses, sweet peas and cottage-garden favourites in every colour.

June
Peonies, roses, sweet peas, delphinium, foxgloves, scabious
July
Roses, hydrangea, cornflowers, larkspur, phlox, snapdragons, ammi
August
Dahlias, hydrangea, zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, sedum, grasses

Autumn

September – November

Warmer tones and richer textures — dahlias at their peak, seed heads, berries and the first hints of foraged foliage.

September
Dahlias, chrysanthemums, sedum, rosehips, hydrangea, amaranthus
October
Chrysanthemums, dahlias, dried grasses, berries, autumn foliage
November
Chrysanthemums, hypericum berries, viburnum, ivy, dried seed heads

Winter

December – February

Quieter, considered and evergreen. Structural stems, scented paperwhites and the season's first bulbs coming back to us.

December
Amaryllis, paperwhites, hellebores, spruce, eucalyptus, holly, mistletoe
January
Hellebores, anemones, ranunculus, forced hyacinths, early narcissi
February
Tulips, anemones, ranunculus, mimosa, narcissi, blossom branches
